Children's Dentistry for Lathrup Village's Youth
Regular checkups and hygiene visits can help ensure optimal oral health for your child.
Bringing your child to the dentist early will only set them for future oral health and wellness success in the future. Many parents aren't sure what age they should bring their child into the dentist. At Signature Smiles, we regularly care for the dental needs of children that are as young as three years old. Though, if you've noticed your child has had a problem or two with their teeth or gums and they're younger than three years old- please schedule an appointment.
Early dental visits can prevent more serious trouble down the road as the risk for decay and discoloration can begin with a child’s first baby tooth.
We Offer Happy Visits
We often encourage parents to bring their children to their dental checkup around two years of age so they can become familiar with the sights, sounds, and people in our dental office. We like to call this a Happy Visit, as it familiarizes your child with the surroundings in the dental office.
Once your child is old enough for an independent checkup, it will involve a tooth-by-tooth inspection and periodontal exam. Our dentists are skilled and trained to check for proper development, as well as tooth decay and any other areas of concern they may notice. As children get older, it's important to know that they will need regular checkups and hygiene visits. This will help ensure optimal oral health and enables the dentist to offer any corrective treatments they may need for proper teeth development. We will also teach your child the best oral home care technique so that they can learn how to brush and floss effectively.
